Roll 3

For a while, I carried two cameras around, my Minolta Freedom 140EX Date Zoom and a Lomography LCA+. The Minolta would be loaded with color film, and the Lomo LCA+ with black and white. It’s hard for me to think of these rolls separately. They were everywhere together at the same time. This is the color side of these two rolls loaded into my Minolta. This roll, in comparison to its companion in Roll 4, made me realize how hard it could be under certain scenarios to tell whether a roll is color or black and white film. Take a look at the second picture with a ribbon for a great example of this.

This was still early in the photography journey. I wasn’t sure how far any of this would go. At the time, I felt such little motivation or energy to do anything other than scroll my phone in my free time. The city was being blanketed in snow at 10AM (that’s just a half hour or so after I usually get up on the weekend), and so quickly my body wants to be outside and taking pictures. There wasn’t this huge spiral that my mind can get into to justify not doing things. My body was itching to walk, and my mind was swept up in that excitement. IT was the first inkling of what impact this hobby could have on my life. I enjoyed that day so so much. It was the same day I met two of my favorite figures of the city, the couple and reacher. I’ll leave you to try and guess who those are, but I do explain them more extensively in HEADLINES; Vol. 2.
